Commitment and Appropriation of Funds for School Counselors, Social Workers and Instructional Support
Recommended Action
That the Board of Commissioners commits to provide $3.5 miilion in recurring funding to the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) for the purpose of increasing the number of school counselors, social workers and instructional support as well as appropriate $1.75 million from committed ABC Revenues for Fiscal Year 2018 to allow for mid-year implementation contingent upon the following subsequent actions by the Wake County Voard of Education:
1. A summary of the planned use of funds, to include identification of metrics for measuring success, be provided to the Board of Commissioners, and;
2. The Wake County Board of Education commits to providing matchin, recurring funds and evidences such commitment through a formal vote of the board
