Multi-Year Contracts for Health Plan Administration, Medicare Advantage, Dental Plan Administration, and Vision Benefits
Recommended Action
That the Board of Commissioners authorizes the County Manager to:
1. Negotiate and execute a multi-year contract with Cigna Health and Life Insurance Company to administer the County’s self-funded health plan, subject to the terms and conditions acceptable to the County Attorney.
2. Negotiate and execute a multi-year contract with Delta Dental of North Carolina to administer the County’s self-funded dental plan, subject to the terms and conditions acceptable to the County Attorney.
3. Negotiate and execute a multi-year contract with Aetna Life Insurance Company and SilverScript Insurance Company for the administration of a Medicare Advantage plan for Medicare-eligible participants on Wake County’s retiree health plan, subject to the terms and conditions acceptable to the County Attorney.
4. Negotiate and execute a multi-year contract with Eyemed Vision Care, LLC to provide fully-insured vision insurance plans for employees, subject to the terms and conditions acceptable to the County Attorney.
