Adopt a Resolution Approving a Special Emergency Exception to the North Carolina General Statues 143-129 for Construction Bidding at the North Wake Landfill for Emergency Road Repairs
Recommended Action
That the Board of Commissioners:
1. Approves a resolution authorizing a special emergency exception to NCGS 143-129 for construction bidding requirements due to an imminent threat to health and safety of people and property at the North Wake Landfill; and
2. Appropriates $750,000 of Solid Waste Operating Fund fund balance to the Solid Waste Operating Fund to then be transferred to the Solid Waste Capital Fund; and
3. Authorizes the County Manager to execute a construction contract with the Fred Smith Company to complete emergency repairs, subject to terms and conditions acceptable to the County Attorney.
