Request of the Wake County Board of Education for Approval and Funding of a Multi-Year Operating Lease of a School Facility - 931 Durham Road (First Reading)
Recommended Action
That the Board of Commissioners receives this information from the Board of Education, so that upon answering any outstanding questions this item will be placed on a future Agenda for consideration pursuant to N.C.G.S 115C-530 to:
1. Adopt the attached resolution approving a Wake County Board of Education commercial building and parcel lease for operational, educational and student support purposes, and direct staff to provide such additional data as may be necessary to support of the Board of Education’s submittal of an application to the North Carolina Local Government Commission for approval of the lease; and
2. Approve approximately $9,051,765 of cash from the WCPSS operating budget (from and after July 1, 2026) to address the lease costs over the term of the lease.
